Progress and Reflection

Progress. It’s what we all like to see when we start putting effort into a task or goal.

Yet, sometimes, we get too caught up in our progress to truly reflect on how we got there.

If we focus on reflection, we can realize how just a few weeks can make essential differences in our lives.

Think back to a recent period. For example, in a short time, we may have moved on from conflicts or gotten used to small life changes; we started to reverse bad habits or began a health regimen; perhaps we have healed from an injury or illness.

Say yes to progress, but don’t forget the journey along the way.

With this in mind, here are five ways we can slow down and practice positive reflection:

  •                       Frequent journaling
  •                       Meditation & mindset practice
  •                       Keeping a gratitude journal
  •                       Tracking your progress

Inviting others into your goals and talking with them about it

Please take a moment to notice the changes and think about the journey it took to get there.

Richard Carlson once said, “Reflection is one of the most underused yet powerful tools for success.”

How have you taken time to reflect on your progress lately?
